so we have a story. a few centuries ago, after a red bearded man's discovery of silver mines in indian territories, there was this ominous man called "şapkalı bull" who doesn't like red things, just like he couldn't stand the red skinned people at his new found lands and threw silver rocks at them to whiten them all right before he came here. i almost forgot to mention his red moustache, i should mention his moustache was also red. then he took his boat and sailed to our neighborhood, to the legendary waters, to our famous mediterranean sea. it was, after this incident, called as "white sea" by a mighty and cruel God. the sea is not white at all though He called it so, but still, He has a point. once, it looked just like the red sea, like any other sea, you know, bluish sort of look they all have. then came this bull guy and he grasped the life source then took it away with him. he was a sailor and a man who had insatiable hunger and thirst for things by the sea. of all the livings underwater, he happened to come across a pearl, lying its red flair comfortably in its mother's comfortable stomach. our dearest pearl, on the other hand, swept his malicious thoughts by the wave of its charm at first. then he tried to whiten it like he did with the indians. he gathered white pearls around it to do so. also an elephant and a naughty monkey who stole the elephant's balloon. but the balloon was missing, the şapkalı man thought they were playing at the time and the alligator was hiding the balloon in its mouth. anyway, all was exploded from the concentration of charm of that little pearl as they approached and came close. at the end, the şapkalı sailor tricked the pearl with its own weapon, he praised and pampered it, caressed with compassion and sang a local chant. the pearl was trapped already, its redness was being immolated in a firewall of charm and charisma. then he locked it in a chest and hid the key in a piece of turkish lokum. you know, even seas are alive and has life in them as we people do. when the heart, the pearl of mediterranean was put away, the sea turned from looking like a man's blushed face when he's about to sneeze to looking like a pale face of a man who is about to cough. the foamy parts of the sea became as white as a silly rabbit chased by zebras in national geographic channel. then an idea hit me in the toe when i turned the tv off and went to shopping because i was getting hungry: this whole thing is the reason why they make yoğurt so white in the mediterranean sea region in a small village of Silifke. and they have a chant there that goes like this:
Yoğurt from Silifke
Hey there lady
Who brought you by
Then i shall call your mama
As my kaynana
it's kind of beautiful when someone plays the melody with a lemon shaped giant piano while you're singing.
